Hawthorne Elementary School is dedicated to each child achieving his or her highest potential while providing a nurturing social environment. Since 1961, Hawthorne has been meeting the educational needs of children in the community. In 1995, Hawthorne became the first Theme School of Technology and Communication and is committed to further enhancing the educational experience of our students with our State of the Arts Apple Learning Lab.

The PTA is the nation’s original parent group in schools, influencing millions of parents, past and present, to get involved in their children’s education. The purpose of PTA is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. Hawthorne’s PTA programs encourage and support parent involvement in children's education and build rapport between parents and teachers.

The HES Foundation is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation whose mission is to support a superior academic experience for every child at HES through the financial support of short and long-term initiatives. The Foundation Board of Directors consists of members of the Hawthorne Elementary School parent body and/or community, faculty, the Principal as well as leaders of the PTA and School Council.

The Hawthorne School Council is a group of elected parents, teachers, business leaders and school principal that come together to improve student achievement at Hawthorne. The School Council:

- Advises administration on curriculum and policies

- Brings concerns from parents, teachers, and community members to the administration and council.

- Works to better the academic and social environment for all students.
